Life Skills
It has been said that journey of 1,000 miles begins with one step. Often times, the first step is the most difficult to take. In transitioning to a more desirable life, so much information exists concerning a new job or going back to school that it can be intimidating. Learning a new set of skills takes a strong set of life skills that make up the foundation of happy and successful people.
The program aims to ensure that the adults are equipped with the tools needed to enter the job market and be successful over a sustained period of time. Eventually, self-sufficiency will finally seem to be within the realm of possibilities.
Life Skills is a four-week program that focuses on the practical skills needed for the tasks of daily life.
The adult student will develop the following areas:
communication skills
personal development
physical health and nutrition
self-control
self-esteem
conflict resolution and problem solving
how to budget and handle financial needs
