Department of Human Services (DHS)

North Midtown’s core belief lies in the wrap-around services that touch every aspect of people and the community.  In a concerted effort to do so, 1996 saw the birth of a partnership with the Department of Human Services (DHS). North Midtown and DHS work collectively to provide benefits to those who need them and support to those working toward self-sufficiency.

The satellite DHS office has become a one-stop center for the delivery of public services ranging from assisting those enrolled in the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) to health and mental referral services.  Support services are also provided for those who are or know someone who’s fallen victim to substance abuse.  The possibility of a fresh start to anyone in and of itself yields hope which we have seen can move mountains.

This office provide components such as:

Economic Assistance
The Education Center
The Work Ready (JRA) program and Job Placement Services
Life Skills School

The office services individuals that live in the following zip codes: 39202, 39203, 39204, 39205, 39216

Office hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
